Massage

Massage therapy can be a helpful tool in relieving pain and speeding up your recovery. Soft tissue massage is used in a variety of muscle, joint, and chronic pain injuries. It’s also great for stress relief and relaxation.

Our remedial massage therapist Caroline works closely with the physiotherapists to offer a combined approach to managing your situation. Massage provides a holistic treatment that can relieve muscle tightness and pain by stimulating blood supply, calming the peripheral nervous system, easing stiffness and tension, flushing lactic acid and toxins from muscles. Massage also aids in reducing anxiety and depression.

Clients of all ages and walks of life can benefit from remedial massage. Each massage is tailored to suit your ongoing needs. In general, a remedial massage treatment uses strokes that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow, to ease tense and knotted muscles. Massage strokes start with broad flowing strokes to locate tensions and calm and relax the nervous system. Pressure is gradually increased to relieve areas of tension. Oil is used to deeply penetrate muscles and to prevent friction with the skin. Passive joint stretching can also be used.
