Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is centred around injuries, aches, and pain that are a result of your work environment. It can help you optimise your health and ensure your work does not cause you any more injuries.

The Workers’ Compensation Act is very rigid and it’s important that you understand your rights as an employee in terms of getting injured while at work. At Walkerville Physiotherapy, we will not only fix your injury and get you back to work and other activities but also educate you on your rights as well as requirements and adjustments needed at your workplace for you to be able to complete your work in a safe and healthy environment. We understand that your work is important, but your health should be your top priority, just like it is our priority to keep you healthy at work and outside of work.

If you want to know what it costs – and what availability we have, then please just click the button below and complete the short form.

Occupational therapy is putting you under a very fine microscope to get you back to work as quick as possible. We will identify the root cause of your problem and work on fixing your injury as well as a plan to implement strategies to prevent it from coming back in the future. We need to understand everything about your occupation, your workplace, and your habits to be able to understand where and what changes we need to make to get you back to work but also keep you away from injuries.

If you’re not quite ready to book an appointment yet and have some questions you would like answered first, click the link below to complete a form to get the conversation started.

The most common problem people come to us with is back pain from sitting for long hours at work, fall injuries, and other work-related problems. If it’s postural, we will use a mix of treatments like massage therapy, physio, and dry needling to target the specific areas where the pain is and bring you the relief you’ve been looking for. We will also work on your posture and teach you the techniques to improve your overall health and flexibility. It’s worth investing in an ergonomic chair or stand-up desk to further improve your work conditions.

Are you unsure if physical therapy is right for you? Would you prefer to talk with a PT before making a decision? All you have to do is click the link below to fill out a simple form.

*Note: there is no treatment given at one of our taster sessions. It’s for you to ask us more questions and for us to confirm whether or not we think we can help you.
